What are RSS feeds?
An RSS feed (also known as "news feed") is a listing of a Web site's content, and it is updated whenever new content is published to the site. If you visit a lot of Web sites on a daily basis, or read a lot of blogs, RSS feeds can save you a lot of time. You won't have to visit many sites, multiple times every day, to see if there are updates. Your news reader will automatically send you the latest news, and you can click on the stories that are of interest to you! Have you ever subscribed to a podcast through iTunes? If your answer is "yes", then you have already used a certain kind of RSS feed.
How do you get started?
In order to make use of an RSS feed, you'll need a news feed reader. If you're new to RSS feeds, iGoogle or My Yahoo might be a good place to start. You can also have RSS feeds sent directly to your Outlook. There are other news feed readers available. You just have to search the net or ask your tech savy friends what they use.
