Serving Single Moms

Single Moms carry the bulk of the parenting responsibilities and often also work a full time job. 45% of single moms hold down more than one job and 85% are living below the poverty line (for those under 25). Their role in shaping and nurturing the next generation is heavier because they are doing it alone.God cares about these precious families, and we as a church care also. We have been focusing some of our volunteer resources in the area of serving single moms and their children for the past several years through:
Single Mom's Morning Out Single Moms Morning Out
A strategic event to serve single moms and their children. Hundreds of volunteers come together to give moms the “morning off” while their children are lovingly cared for. Opportunities for the moms include spa services, car care, breakfast, our Abundant Blessings area, Gift bags and take home lunches, one-on-one prayer and encouragement and much more. Consider how you will help out with the Single Mom’s Morning Out- held on the first Saturday in May as a special Mother’s Day gift to our Single Moms.
Single Moms – Small Talk
Small Talk is a diverse group of single moms who come together to encourage each other and share life experiences. In these times, these moms are reminded that they have a group of women who are there for them and God is there for them too. They see the truth of Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Small Talk exists to be a catalyst in helping single moms discover and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We desire to empower the single mom in her role as a parent and a woman.
