CREATIVE IDEAS:
Attend a Worship Service Together
Here at E-Free you have the option of three service times, but often families split up at church. The adults go to "Big Church" and the kids attend Sunday school, then they all head home. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but try making it a point to attend a worship service where you all sit together, even if it's once-a-month. After the service, take your kids out to lunch and talk about the service and what impact the experience had on each of you.
Movie Night
Plan to have a typical movie night with your family. Before you submit your request on Netflix or go to the Red Box do some research. Plugged in Magazine can give you great feedback. Other sources like Videos that Teach and Movie Clip Discussions provide questions to follow what you watch. Use the movie as a springboard to talk about something that you can teach of benefit to your children.
Road Trip
Jesus took His disciples to places where they could see, taste and touch the truth. Try doing the same once in a while as a family. For example, if you are going to talk about life and death or making each day count, consider going to a nearby cemetery and discuss the topic there together. Your options here are only limited to your imagination.
PROTECT YOUR FAMILY:
BE SAFE ONLINE
The Internet offers opportunities to improve your life, have some fun, enhance your education or pursue your interests. Youth are often enthusiastic Internet users, particularly of interactive services like Email, Chat and Facebook. However, like many activities, there are risky situations to deal with and hazards to avoid. This website offers advice about how to be safe online.
